Serving Nassau & Suffolk Counties since 2008 through in-person and online instructor led classes, using interactive workbook, discussions and films, it is the goal of Empire State Defensive Driving to provide knowledgeable information, laws and tips to help drivers successfully navigate our roadways with the utmost care, responsibility and safety for all.
About Us
A native Long Islander, Cathleen was raised on the North Shore in the Three Village community and is a Ward Melville High School Alumni. Cathleen received her AS in Multidisciplinary Studies and BS in Historical Studies from SUNY Empire State College while maintaining full time employment in the insurance industry.
In addition, Cathleen is also a NYS Notary Public as well as a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker. It was during her 11-year insurance career that Cathleen became a certified NYS Defensive Driving instructor.
Cathleen still resides on the North Shore and is an active member of the Long Island Museum and Three Village Historical Society.

We come on-site to instruct a large group of employees
Online Zoom Instructor Led Classes
Instruction takes place on a Zoom call with a live instructor. All material will be available for download prior to class start
Community Instructor Led Classes
Will come on-site with Instructor led training to your location such as a neighborhood, retirement community, etc.

Payments/Cancellations/Refunds
Payment: Due upon class registration via Venmo or Zelle.
Cancellations/Refunds: Kindly cancel at least 24 hours before class for a full refund. If unable to do so, you may attend another class within 90 days.
Minimum class requirement: Ten students. If the minimum requirement is not met, a full refund will be issued or you may register for another class.
